Category Manager - FMCG Non-Food

About the role

Al Aswaq Al Watania Hypermarket is looking for an experienced Category Manager to strengthen its retail and procurement operations in Dubai. The role covers central buying, category strategy, supplier relationships and product assortment, with an estimated salary of AED 12,000 to AED 18,000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Manage category planning and central purchasing for non-food fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)
• Develop and implement category strategies to increase sales, profitability and product performance
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and business partners
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and supplier agreements
• Work with merchandising and retail operations to keep products available and optimise assortment
• Analyse market trends, customer demand and competitor activity
• Monitor supplier performance and support inventory planning and merchandising decisions with sales data

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• At least five years as a Central Buyer for FMCG non-food products in UAE hypermarket or supermarket chains
• Previous experience in the UAE retail sector is mandatory
• Strong understanding of category management, central buying, merchandising and retail operations
• Excellent negotiation, supplier management and contract coordination skills
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and make commercially sound decisions
