Category Manager – Grocery (tMart)

About the role

Talabat is seeking a Category Manager to drive the growth of its innovative grocery store concept, tMart, which offers 30‑minute delivery across the Middle East. You will own the full lifecycle of category management, from assortment planning to pricing, promotions, and supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of category strategy, including assortment, pricing, offers and supply chain coordination.
• Monitor economic performance of assigned categories, ensuring alignment with sales, gross margin and profit targets.
• Implement commercial strategy and pricing guidelines, and provide operational inputs for tools, templates and fixtures.
• Negotiate with local suppliers, manage contracts, and resolve any supplier issues.
• Define and maintain local assortments, integrate basic assortments, and communicate product needs to regional teams.
• Conduct market price audits, develop the country promotion calendar, and ensure effective execution of promotional events.
• Analyse consumer preferences, competitor activity and trends to optimise promotional activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing multiple product categories for large retailers or FMCG companies in an international setting.
• Proven ability to build teams and lead cross‑functional projects at scale.
• Detail‑oriented, structured and strong prioritisation skills.
• Hands‑on attitude, willing to support operations on the warehouse floor when needed.
