Change Management Engineer

About the role

A Change Management Engineer is needed in Dubai, working for a telecoms company that supports the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du and Virgin Mobile). The role presides over change control activities, including CAB meetings and Maximo tool requests, and works closely with operations, business units and emergency outages.

Key responsibilities

• Preside over the CAB meeting and discuss all planned RFCs (fixed and mobile)
• Handle post-assurance follow-up and trigger fault processes when needed
• Attend to Maximo tool RFCs and run pre-assurance sanity checks on Change Requests, ensuring they meet defined KPIs
• Send Business Outage/Hazard notifications when needed and attend to business concerns raised about SA/TC notifications
• Assist the RFC sponsor with Maximo tool operation and update RFC SLAs
• Provide technical and governance advice to NIS, TSRM, TSO and IPSDP domains, validate extension reasons and requirements, and follow requests with Operations for technical review
• Conduct the weekly Change Advisory Board meeting and ad-hoc meetings, and cover the on-call roster and after-hours support
• Help the SOC, business and NDO teams with incoming calls, attend emergency RFCs after working hours and carrier activities, and coordinate with other departments in normal and urgent situations
• Schedule and prioritize Change Requests and handle day-to-day administration of the Maximo tool
• Report on network performance, availability, SLA achievement and outage activities quarterly or on request

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor's degree in electronics or computer science
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in the telecommunications industry
• Excellent communication skills, able to communicate up to C-level
• Eager to work shifts and flexible working hours; able to make decisions under pressure during long working hours

Required skills

• Complete knowledge of ETOM and ITIL
• Knowledge of SharePoint and Maximo
• Expert use of Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word
