Chef de Partie (Lounge Bar)

About the role

Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort, is looking for a full-time, non-management Chef de Partie for its lounge bar in Ajman. The role covers preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards, keeping food quality and portion control, and supporting the kitchen and service team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items, and prepare cold foods.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Maintain food logs and inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Communicate assistance needed during busy periods and anticipate guests' service needs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
• Keep a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and speak clearly and professionally.
• Develop positive working relationships, support the team, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Required profile

• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
