Chef de Partie - Sheraton, Dubai

About the role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is looking for a full-time Chef de Partie at its property on Sheikh Zayed Road, al Barsha 1, near the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. The role covers preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards, keeping food quality under control and supporting the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and prepare cold foods
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
• Maintain food logs and follow recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist
• Inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials and inform food and beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items
• Anticipate guests' service needs and communicate assistance needed during busy periods
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and build positive working relationships

Required profile

• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift objects up to 25 pounds
