About the role
The Chief Engineer – Projects will lead the multi‑phase re‑positioning and enhancement of the iconic JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, overseeing all project‑related activities to ensure facilities operate flawlessly.
Key responsibilities
- Direct project teams in inspections, evaluations, asset management and monitoring contractor work areas.
- Oversee contract documents, review drawings from all trades, and ensure compliance with government approvals, fire safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation while identifying potential bottlenecks in logistics and operations.
- Support the Director of Engineering in improving project delivery quality and guest/employee satisfaction.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of project experience, including at least 3 years in the UAE.
- Degree or higher diploma in Project Management, Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong leadership, customer focus, and proven ability to drive team success.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; additional regional languages a plus.
Required skills
- Project management expertise.
- Proficiency with DWG and CAD tools.
- Knowledge of MEP, civil engineering and HVAC systems.
- Budgeting, scheduling and contract review capabilities.
