Chief of Medical Oncology

About the role

Black Pearl Consult seeks a Chief of Medical Oncology to lead clinical services at a comprehensive cancer centre in the UAE. This senior appointment will shape a high‑quality oncology service with a focus on multidisciplinary care, education, research and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Set clinical direction and standards for the Medical Oncology division.
• Lead multidisciplinary tumour boards and coordinate care with surgical, radiation and other oncology specialties.
• Develop disease‑specific programmes, clinical pathways and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support clinical trials, investigator‑led research and academic collaboration.
• Mentor consultants, trainees and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Build and develop the team while overseeing service performance, patient access and resource planning.

Required profile

• Consultant‑level qualifications meeting Tier 1 UAE Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements.
• Fellowship in Medical Oncology or equivalent.
• Confirmed DHA Consultant licence.
• Minimum 10 years of consultant‑level Medical Oncology experience in a comprehensive cancer centre or academic medical centre.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in a Medical Oncology department or service line.
• Record of leading oncology programmes, multidisciplinary care, clinical trials or research.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Master’s degree or PhD in healthcare management or related field preferred.

• Precision oncology, including genomics and biomarker‑led treatment.
• Immunotherapy and emerging systemic cancer therapies.
• Clinical trial design and execution.
