Civil Inspector

About the role

The Civil Inspector will carry out day‑to‑day site inspection and supervision of roadworks and infrastructure utilities on behalf of the Consultant. The role ensures that contractor workmanship, materials and methods comply with approved IFC drawings, project specifications and the requirements of Dubai authorities such as RTA, DM, DEWA, Etisalat/du and Empower.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously inspect all roadworks and utility activities, verify Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and issue observation notes.
• Supervise earthworks, pavement layers, storm‑water drainage, potable water, sewerage, irrigation and district‑cooling networks, witnessing tests such as compaction, CCTV surveys and pressure testing.
• Inspect kerbs, channels, road furniture, electrical and telecom ductwork, and ensure correct setting‑out, levels and alignment in coordination with the land surveyor.
• Maintain daily inspection diaries, photographs, and prepare inspection reports, supporting as‑built data and authority submissions.

Required profile

• Diploma or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology.
• 7–10 years of civil site inspection experience, including at least 5 years on roads and infrastructure utilities projects, with 3–4 years in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong knowledge of RTA specifications, Dubai Municipality QCS, DEWA standards, Etisalat/du and Empower specifications.
