Civil Inspector - Marine Works, SWRO Desalination Project

About the role

The Civil Inspector monitors and inspects all civil construction activities for the SWRO desalination project in Fujairah, UAE. The role ensures that site works follow approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and safety requirements, supports the QA/QC team and works closely with contractors and engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine site inspections of foundations, concrete structures, pipelines, tanks and marine works (intake/outfall)
• Check that construction complies with approved drawings, specifications and project standards
• Monitor workmanship and materials against quality requirements
• Verify alignment, levels, dimensions and structural integrity
• Witness and record tests such as concrete pouring, compaction and material testing
• Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are taken
• Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, contractors and site engineers
• Maintain inspection records, reports and documentation
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safe work practices
• Review method statements and inspection test plans before execution
• Support handover inspections and project close-out documentation, and help resolve civil construction site issues

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in civil inspection for construction or infrastructure projects
• Previous experience in SWRO desalination or large water treatment projects preferred
• Experience in the Middle East, preferably UAE
• Good understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspection protocols and documentation; certification in quality inspection or QA/QC preferred
