Junior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

A full-time Electrical Design Engineer position in Fujairah for commercial, residential and industrial projects. The engineer designs, develops and implements electrical systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and project requirements. Candidates must be comfortable with the stated salary scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, ELV and control systems, and prepare single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules and wiring diagrams.
• Select equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, generators and UPS systems, and ensure compliance with IEC, NEC, IEEE and local codes.
• Prepare technical specifications, design documents and BOQs, coordinate with architects and mechanical engineers, and review shop drawings, as-built drawings and material submittals.
• Conduct risk assessments, assist in cost estimates and feasibility studies, and provide site support during construction, installation and commissioning.
• Take part in testing and commissioning, troubleshoot faults and ensure handover documentation is complete.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in building services, MEP or industrial projects.
• Candidates holding an Etihad W&E consultant license will be given priority.
• Preferred: experience with HV/LV distribution, knowledge of SCADA, BMS and ELV systems, and hands-on commissioning experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux or similar electrical design software.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
• Analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with good communication and teamwork abilities.
