Collection & Credit Controller

About the role

The Collection and Credit Controller oversees the daily execution of credit control and collections, keeping receivables accurate and following up on outstanding dues while coordinating with internal departments and clients. The role supports risk mitigation through credit assessments and compliance with credit control procedures, under the supervision of the Manager – Accounts Receivable & Credit Control.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the collections and credit control team, guide members, allocate tasks and escalate unresolved matters to the Manager.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up overdue accounts by call, email and formal notice; handle high-risk cases with the Manager and recommend actions such as service suspension or legal escalation.
• Assess credit for new and existing clients, maintain credit exposure limits in the ERP system, flag risks and propose mitigation plans.
• Review customer ledgers for unapplied receipts and disputes, work with billing and commercial teams to clear them, and ensure accurate receipt application.
• Support weekly and monthly reports on collections, overdue balances and exposure, track collection KPIs and aging trends, and coordinate with legal, sales and customer service teams.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, help prepare for audits, and act as backup for key functions during absences or peak periods.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in credit control and collections, including 2 years in a team coordination or supervisory capacity.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, ability to manage many accounts with tight deadlines, and effective leadership and delegation.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Solid understanding of receivables, aging reports, credit assessments and legal collection frameworks.
