Commercial Operations Executive (Shipping)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Commercial Operations Executive to support the pre‑ and post‑fixture operations of our owned fleet in Dubai. The role involves close coordination with charterers, brokers, agents and internal teams to ensure efficient and profitable voyage execution.

Key responsibilities

• Handle post‑fixture operations including voyage planning, laytime calculations and cargo documentation.
• Liaise with charterers, agents, bunker suppliers and shipmasters to coordinate voyage instructions.
• Monitor vessel performance and ensure compliance with charter‑party terms.
• Follow up on freight invoices, demurrage/dispatch claims and cost approvals.
• Maintain voyage records and prepare profitability reports.
• Support the Commercial Manager in fixture execution and operational follow‑ups.
• Coordinate port clearance requirements and dispatch relevant documents on time.
• Communicate with shipboard staff to ensure voyage efficiency and resolve issues.
• Track market developments and assist in gathering commercial intelligence.

Required profile

• Graduate in Shipping, Maritime Studies or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in commercial or post‑fixture operations with a ship owner/operator.
• Strong understanding of shipping documentation, charter parties and voyage execution processes.
• Excellent coordination skills and ability to handle time‑sensitive tasks under pressure.
• Team player with attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Familiarity with voyage management systems (e.g., IMOS).
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
