Housekeeping Intern

About the role

voco Dubai The Palm, part of the IHG family of hotels, is looking for a Housekeeping Intern. The intern keeps rooms and suites fresh and welcoming for guests after a busy day, following the hotel's cleaning standards and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Attend shift briefings, receive daily room assignments through the Message Box Application and sign in for master keys.
• Keep the trolley organized, clean and fully stocked with linen, guest supplies, amenities and cleaning chemicals.
• Clean assigned guestrooms according to the day's requirements and IHG Way of Clean standards.
• Update room statuses (Cleaned, DND, Refused Service, Sleep Out, Out of Order, Out of Service, etc.) and complete tasks, guest requests and service orders in the Message Box Application.
• Make beds and change linen so that linens are clean, well presented and free from stains, tears or damage.
• Clean guestrooms, bathrooms, balconies, corridors and service areas to the highest standard.
• Report maintenance defects, damages, safety hazards, lost and found items and room status discrepancies to the Floor Supervisor immediately.
• Maintain linen rooms, pantries, service areas, corridors, lift landings and public areas; follow up on DND and Refused Service rooms.
• Handle guests' belongings and valuables with care and integrity.
• Follow fire, hygiene, health, safety and security policies, use housekeeping equipment responsibly and control guest supplies and chemicals to minimise wastage.
• Attend training, meetings and briefings, learn hotel facilities and services, and help with deep cleaning programmes and special projects.
• Ensure guest privacy and confidentiality, and sign off at the end of the shift.
