Commis 1 – Pastry & Bakery

About the role

Join the Pastry & Bakery Kitchen team at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai as a Commis 1. You will support the preparation and service of high‑quality pastry and bakery items in a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, peel and prepare ingredients for production.
• Maintain mise en place to the highest standards.
• Set up and replenish buffet stations.
• Assist with stock requisition, storage organization and inventory reporting.
• Store ingredients in labelled containers and ensure proper preservation.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools and utensils according to food‑safety standards.
• Report cleanliness and maintenance issues and support daily checks.
• Adhere to personal hygiene and food‑safety regulations.

Required profile

• High school qualification; culinary diploma preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Commis 1 in pastry & bakery.
• Ability to work long hours and handle physical tasks up to 15 kg.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and food hygiene.
