About the role
The Commis I in the Main Kitchen supports the culinary team by preparing meals, maintaining food quality, and ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; pull and thaw food from freezer storage.
- Maintain food logs, monitor portioning, arrangement, garnish, and overall food quality.
- Communicate with chefs and service staff about menu specials, excess items, and out‑of‑stock items.
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching employees as needed.
Required profile
- Technical or vocational school education.
- At least 3 years of related culinary experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
Required skills
- Food preparation and cooking according to recipes.
- Temperature control of kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow safety, security, and hygiene policies.
