Commis II – Bakery & Pastry

About the role

Our client, a leading restaurant group in Dubai, is seeking a motivated Commis II – Bakery & Pastry to join their pastry team. You will support the preparation and production of a wide range of baked goods, pastries and desserts while upholding the highest culinary standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, creams and other pastry components according to recipes.
• Bake, decorate and present breads, cakes, pastries and desserts as instructed.
• Maintain consistency in product quality, taste and presentation.
• Keep the pastry kitchen and workstations clean, organized and sanitary.
• Operate bakery equipment safely and monitor baking times, temperatures and product quality.
• Support inventory control through stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Help train and guide junior kitchen staff when required.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head Pastry Chef, Sous Chef or Chef de Partie.

Required profile

• 2–3 years experience as a Commis Chef, with at least 1 year in a bakery and pastry kitchen.
• Culinary diploma specializing in Baking & Pastry Arts or equivalent training.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Baking and pastry preparation techniques.

• Food safety, hygiene and HACCP compliance.
