Communications Foreman – Maintenance Team Lead

About the role

The Communications Foreman will lead a team of communications technicians responsible for maintaining all communication systems across DUGAS facilities. The role includes coordinating internal resources, outsourcing larger jobs, and ensuring equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance alerts, diagnose issues, and assign technicians to resolve communication unit problems.
• Engage qualified external contractors for projects beyond departmental capacity.
• Monitor broadcasting equipment expiry dates and advise the Electrical Supervisor on relicensing or replacement.
• Support Corporate IT on Ethernet and related communication projects.
• Liaise with telecom providers (e.g., Etisalat) and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority for licensing, renewals, and policy communication.
• Define vendor scopes of work, oversee service delivery, and verify proper installation of upgraded equipment.
• Implement departmental policies, processes, and procedures and ensure team compliance.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities to enhance systems, reduce costs, and boost productivity.
• Prepare accurate MIS reports for the department and senior management.
• Enforce safety, quality, and environmental standards in all activities.

Required profile

• Diploma in Instrumentation.
