Competent Person Electrical Engineer – Transmission Lines (UAE)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Competent Person (CP) Electrical Engineer to lead transmission line construction activities across the United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on safe, compliant execution of all site works, ensuring alignment with engineering, HSE, quality, and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all phases of transmission line construction, including installation, erection, testing, lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing and conductor installation.
• Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, enforce UAE regulations, client standards and HSE requirements, and stop unsafe work when necessary.
• Review and verify work permits, risk assessments, method statements and job safety requirements.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, HSE and client teams to resolve technical and site issues.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, permits and CP documentation, and report incidents, near‑misses and non‑conformities.

Required profile

• BE/BTech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on transmission line projects, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• Valid ADNOC or TAQA CP approval – mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of HSE practices, work permits and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with contractors, consultants and client representatives.
