Construction Director - High-Speed Rail (Railway Infrastructure)

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is seeking an experienced Construction Director to support the delivery of a major railway infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. The role provides senior leadership across construction and installation activities, coordinating engineering disciplines, construction teams, partners, contractors and project stakeholders. It requires extensive experience in complex railway construction and proven delivery experience on High-Speed Rail projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all construction and installation activities across the project.
• Manage detailed construction planning, sequencing and site coordination.
• Coordinate site access, site possession and site readiness before works begin.
• Work with subsystem managers, consortium partners, the Engineer and third parties, and manage interfaces with external civil contractors.
• Identify and resolve construction conflicts, interfaces and site issues; monitor progress and consolidate reporting.
• Take part in construction coordination and progress meetings.
• Work with Quality teams on NCRs, non-conformances and corrective actions, and with HSE teams on safety.
• Ensure works meet schedule, quality, HSE and contractual requirements, and provide senior leadership and decision-making during construction.

Required profile

• University degree in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline; Master's degree and/or Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in leadership and management of similar railway systems and construction projects.
• Mandatory experience implementing at least one High-Speed Rail project (railways above 250 km/h) in a similar senior capacity, with more than 5 years of total High-Speed Rail experience.
• Strong construction leadership, stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination; ability to manage complex interfaces and resolve critical site issues.
• Preferred: senior positions such as Construction Director, Project Construction Director, Construction Manager (HSR), Senior Construction Manager, Railway Construction Director or Deputy Construction Director; significant international experience on large-scale High-Speed Rail projects.
