Construction Instrumentation Supervisor (PIB & Field)

About the role

A Construction Instrumentation Supervisor is needed for the Hail & Gasha project in Al Ruwais, UAE, working on the Pre-Installation and Erection (PIE) stage. The supervisor directs subcontractor activities for instrumentation, ensuring plant construction follows erection schedules, project documents, cost budget, quality and safety procedures and subcontract terms. He or she reports to the construction manager and can work partly from home whenever possible.

Key responsibilities

• Cooperate with the project team on constructability and feasibility studies, help APPAL tabulate civil bidders' proposals and clarify them, and define the work scope for subcontractors.
• Before work starts, check suppliers' material and technical documentation delivery schedule against construction schedules and contractual commitments, and approve subcontractor method statements.
• Ensure HSE procedures and standards are implemented and take part in site HSE activities.
• Verify that equipment and manpower are adequate and that work conforms to design documents, safety regulations and quality levels.
• Inspect works, sign certificates, prepare non-conformity registers and coordinate their resolution, and detect design errors.
• Approve subcontractor progress status sheets, manage vendor specialists and assist the contract manager/engineer on price definitions, subcontract amendments and claims.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering.
• At least 10 years of work experience.
• Significant experience in a similar position on EPC oil and gas projects or refineries.
• Experience in pre-installation and erection stages.
