Consultant Infectious Diseases

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Infectious Diseases to provide expert diagnosis, treatment and management of complex infectious cases, working closely with multidisciplinary teams in a leading UAE/GCC healthcare organization.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic infectious diseases in adult patients.
• Provide specialist consultation for complex, unusual, and severe infections.
• Manage sepsis, bloodstream, respiratory, tuberculosis, HIV, viral, fungal and other infections.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical, laboratory, imaging and microbiology results.
• Guide antimicrobial selection, dosing, duration and de‑escalation.
• Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and infection‑control initiatives, including outbreak investigations.
• Collaborate with microbiology, internal medicine, intensive care, surgery, oncology and other specialties.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations and maintain comprehensive patient records.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Specialist qualification in Infectious Diseases or equivalent postgraduate credential.
• Valid professional licence or eligibility for licensing in the UAE/GCC.
• Proven experience as a Consultant or Senior Specialist in Infectious Diseases.
• Strong knowledge of infectious disease diagnosis, antimicrobial therapy and infection‑control practices.
• Excellent clinical decision‑making, communication and teamwork abilities.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
