Consultant Intensivist - ICU

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is looking for a highly qualified Consultant Intensivist. The role suits someone with extensive expertise in critical care medicine, including advanced life support, mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring and the care of critically ill patients. It calls for strong clinical judgment, leadership and a commitment to high-quality intensive care services.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage critically ill patients in the ICU
• Treat sepsis, septic shock, respiratory failure, ARDS and multiorgan dysfunction
• Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support
• Perform intubation, central venous catheterization, arterial line placement and other procedures within clinical privileges
• Manage hemodynamically unstable patients on vasopressors and organ support
• Lead resuscitation, ACLS and patient stabilization
• Interpret ABGs, ECGs, lab results, imaging and bedside ultrasound
• Plan ICU treatments, admissions, transfers and discharge
• Work with anesthesiologists, pulmonologists, cardiologists, surgeons and ICU teams
• Comply with DHA regulations, ICU protocols, infection control and patient safety

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree
• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Medicine or an accepted primary specialty with advanced critical care training
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification; American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European or other international qualifications are highly desirable
• 5-10 years of post-specialization experience preferred
• Eligibility for the DHA Consultant Intensive Care / Critical Care Medicine license in Dubai, subject to UAE PQR requirements
