Consultant Neonatologist – NICU (Saudi Arabia)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Neonatologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering expert care to critically ill and premature newborns within a state‑of‑the‑art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for premature, critically ill, and high‑risk newborns in the NICU.
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as respiratory distress, neonatal sepsis, congenital anomalies, metabolic disorders, and complications of prematurity.
• Perform advanced neonatal procedures including resuscitation, endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, central venous access, and ventilator management.
• Lead emergency response and stabilization efforts in delivery rooms and neonatal units.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and collaborate with obstetricians, pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, and NICU nursing staff.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with infection‑prevention and patient‑safety protocols.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Pediatrics.
• Fellowship or subspecialty certification in Neonatology/Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine.
• Minimum five years of experience as a Consultant Neonatologist in a Level III or IV NICU.
