Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join a leading healthcare network serving Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra. The role involves delivering high‑quality emergency care to neonates, infants, children and adolescents while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric emergency cases, including medical, surgical and traumatic conditions.
• Provide rapid stabilization, resuscitation and emergency procedures such as airway management, procedural sedation, vascular access, lumbar puncture, fracture management and wound care.
• Lead emergency response and trauma teams, and coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, radiologists and other professionals.
• Supervise junior physicians, residents, nurses and allied health staff.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical governance, quality improvement, research and accreditation activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and DOH regulations.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent recognized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine with a pediatric fellowship, or Pediatrics with an accredited pediatric emergency fellowship (e.g., MD, DNB, Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, FRCP, FACEM, FRCEM).
• Eligibility for DOH consultant licensure.
• Valid BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications; ATLS preferred.
