Consultant Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

About the role

The Consultant Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will join SEHA’s Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation in Al Ain. This senior clinical position combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, supporting departmental initiatives and ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based treatment for children.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital, departmental and divisional policies and initiatives.
• Lead performance‑management processes, including peer review and productivity/utilisation reviews.
• Assist the Division Chief with staff scheduling, recruitment and ensuring continuous medical coverage.
• Diagnose and treat pediatric patients according to best‑practice standards, overseeing junior medical staff.
• Conduct ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Review investigation results, modify treatment plans, and obtain informed consent for procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with other specialties and support services.
• Maintain compliance with SEHA policies, licensure, certification and mandatory training requirements.

Required profile

• Medical qualification from a Tier 1 institution as defined by SEHA.
• Board‑certified or equivalent in Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• Experience supervising junior medical staff and participating in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards and quality‑assurance processes.
