Consultant Plastic Surgery Burn Unit

About the role

The Consultant Plastic Surgery Burn Unit will join SEHA’s Burn Centre in Al Ain, providing specialist surgical and clinical care to patients with burn injuries. This senior medical position combines leadership of junior staff with direct patient management in a high‑volume, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital, departmental and divisional policies and initiatives.
• Lead performance management processes, including peer review and productivity/utilisation reviews.
• Assist the Division Chief with staff scheduling to ensure continuous medical coverage.
• Participate in recruitment of new medical staff as required.
• Diagnose and treat burn patients according to best‑practice standards for plastic surgery.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and assume responsibility for their patient care.
• Conduct ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary meetings and liaise with other specialties and support services.
• Ensure appropriate patient preparation, informed consent, and adherence to admission, discharge and follow‑up protocols.

Required profile

• Medical qualification recognised by SEHA (Tier 1 or Tier 2).
• Current national licensure and certification with mandatory training up to date.
• Experience in plastic surgery with a focus on burn care.
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams and manage departmental initiatives.
