Healthcare Aide – Women's Outpatient Department

About the role

The Healthcare Aide supports physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals in the Women’s Outpatient Department, ensuring safe, efficient and patient‑centered care for women attending clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with registration, clinic flow and appointment coordination.
• Escort patients to examination and treatment rooms and prepare rooms before and after visits.
• Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height and weight.
• Support nurses and physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity and comfort at all times.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and clinical areas according to infection control standards.
• Stock and replenish medical supplies, linens and consumables.
• Transport specimens, documents and equipment within the department as required.
• Assist patients with mobility needs and provide support during investigations or procedures.
• Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the registered nurse or physician.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation as delegated.
• Comply with hospital policies, patient safety standards and infection prevention protocols.
• Provide patient education materials and direct patients to appropriate services as instructed by clinical staff.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Healthcare Assistance, Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or a related healthcare field preferred.
