Consultant Rheumatologist – Multispecialty Hospital

About the role

Healthpoint, a multi‑specialty hospital in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Consultant Rheumatologist to join its multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will deliver expert diagnosis, management and treatment of a broad range of rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders, supporting the hospital’s commitment to clinical excellence and patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, spondyloarthritis, gout, osteoporosis and other inflammatory musculoskeletal diseases.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using pharmacological, biologic and non‑pharmacological therapies, including performing joint aspirations, injections and musculoskeletal ultrasound where applicable.
• Collaborate with Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation, Pain Management, Radiology and other specialties to ensure integrated patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, quality improvement initiatives and contribute to medical education and clinical research.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) recognized by the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi.
• Accredited residency in Internal Medicine and a recognized fellowship in Rheumatology.
• Tier 1 qualification preferred (Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, UK CCT/CCST, FRACP or equivalent).
• Eligible for Consultant licensure with the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi and 3‑5 years of post‑specialisation experience.

• Musculoskeletal ultrasound proficiency.
• Joint aspiration and injection techniques.
• Prescribing and managing biologic therapies.
• Accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
