Consultant / Specialist Anesthesiologist

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is hiring a Consultant / Specialist Anesthesiologist to provide safe, effective and high-quality anesthesia care across surgical specialties. The position is full-time and focuses on patient safety and optimal perioperative outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Administer general, regional and local anesthesia for various surgical procedures
• Carry out pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluate patient suitability for surgery
• Develop individualized anesthesia plans based on patient condition and surgical needs
• Monitor vital signs and physiological parameters during procedures
• Provide post-anesthesia care, including pain management and recovery monitoring
• Manage anesthesia-related emergencies and critical complications
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses and multidisciplinary teams
• Perform advanced airway management and resuscitation when required
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, hospital policies and international patient safety standards
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and anesthesia records
• Take part in clinical audits, quality improvement and continuous professional development

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent recognized medical qualification
• Postgraduate specialization in Anesthesiology (MD, DNB, FRCA, CCT, American Board or equivalent)
• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi license or eligibility letter preferred
• Relevant clinical experience as a Specialist or Consultant Anesthesiologist under UAE PQR requirements
• Strong communication, clinical decision-making and teamwork skills
