Registered Nurse - Women's Outpatient Department

About the role

Danat Al Emarat is a specialty women's and children's hospital in Abu Dhabi offering services in neonatology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology and women's health, and acts as a regional referral centre for high-risk pregnancies. Its Women's Outpatient Department provides care for women across all stages of life, covering gynecological concerns, reproductive health, prenatal and postnatal care, family planning, menopause management and routine wellness screenings. The role sits within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' health status, medical history and complaints during outpatient visits, and record accurate patient documentation and nursing notes.
• Assist physicians during gynecological examinations and outpatient procedures, and prepare patients for consultations, tests and minor procedures.
• Provide health education on women's health, reproductive health, hygiene, nutrition and preventive care, and counsel patients on family planning and contraceptive options as directed by the physician.
• Monitor pregnant women in antenatal clinics and educate expectant and new mothers on pregnancy care, breastfeeding and postnatal recovery.
• Administer medications, vaccinations and treatments as prescribed, collect specimens and assist with laboratory investigations.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments and continuity of care, and ensure infection prevention and control.
• Maintain examination rooms, equipment and supplies, and respond promptly to patient concerns with emotional support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, take part in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, and protect patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
