Contract Manager (Construction) - FIDIC

About the role

A well-established and growing construction company in Dubai is looking for an experienced Contract Manager with proven hands-on experience drafting and negotiating FIDIC-based contracts for main contractors. The role focuses on preparing and drafting FIDIC contracts from the main contractor's perspective, not just administering existing ones.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate main construction contracts under FIDIC 1999/2017 (Red and Yellow Books), protecting the main contractor's interests
• Prepare and negotiate subcontracts, supply agreements and contractual amendments
• Review and amend FIDIC Particular Conditions to suit project needs and risks
• Manage contract administration across the project lifecycle, including notices, variations, claims and payments
• Prepare and defend EOT, prolongation cost and variation claims
• Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Commercial Teams, Quantity Surveyors and Planning Engineers
• Support negotiations and dispute resolution with employers, consultants and subcontractors

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
• Minimum 8-10 years of construction contract management experience, preferably in the UAE
• Mandatory: proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating FIDIC main construction contracts as a main contractor
• Strong technical and commercial understanding of construction projects

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of FIDIC 1999/2017 (Red and Yellow Books)
• Experience with contractual amendments, special conditions and risk allocation
• Experience with EOT claims, variations and dispute management
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and English communication skills
