Counseling Outreach Officer

About the role

The Counseling Outreach Officer will report to the Director of the Student Counseling Center and work closely with counselors and administrative staff to promote student well‑being across the university. The role serves as the primary link between the Center, internal university units and external community partners, coordinating outreach programs, events and health accommodations for students.

Key responsibilities

• Identify gaps in awareness of counseling services and develop strategies to increase visibility among students, faculty and staff.
• Represent the Student Counseling Center at university events such as orientation weeks, cultural programs and health‑related conferences.
• Plan, organize and execute mental‑health awareness events (e.g., World Mental Health Day, Depression Awareness Day) in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with university departments, student clubs, community organizations, governmental and non‑governmental agencies to foster partnerships.
• Design and distribute outreach materials including flyers, brochures, newsletters and social‑media content.
• Coordinate health accommodations and accessibility arrangements for students requiring support.
• Deliver psycho‑educational sessions and presentations to targeted student groups.

Required profile

• Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or a related field.
• Experience in student services, community outreach or mental‑health promotion.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational abilities and experience managing events and projects.
• Knowledge of university structures and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
