Crane Operator

About the role

NMDC Dredging and Marine is seeking a qualified Crane Operator to safely and efficiently handle mobile cranes on a variety of construction and marine projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for lifting, moving, and positioning heavy loads while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position equipment and materials according to project plans.
• Conduct pre‑operational inspections and routine maintenance checks to ensure crane readiness.
• Set up cranes on site, securing stability with outriggers, cribbing, and proper rigging techniques.
• Interpret lifting plans and follow signals from signalpersons or riggers.
• Assess load weights, calculate load capacities, and make adjustments as needed.
• Communicate clearly with signalpersons, riggers, and supervisors during lifts.
• Maintain accurate records of crane usage, inspections, and maintenance.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, new equipment, and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating mobile cranes in construction or marine environments.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Ability to perform detailed inspections and basic crane maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
