Cyber Security Specialist – Government (UAE National)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join a leading government organization in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on protecting critical information systems and digital assets by implementing robust security controls and responding to emerging threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cybersecurity controls across systems and infrastructure.
• Monitor security events, analyse logs and investigate potential incidents.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.
• Develop and execute incident response plans.
• Implement identity and access management policies and manage endpoint protection, network security and firewall configurations.
• Assess third‑party vendor cybersecurity risks and ensure compliance with national frameworks.
• Deliver cybersecurity awareness programs and run phishing simulation exercises.
• Research emerging threats and recommend proactive security enhancements.
• Coordinate with IT, business teams and external security bodies, and support junior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or Information Technology.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security or network security.
• Proven expertise in implementing security controls, threat monitoring and incident response.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment, risk mitigation and security audits.
