Data Management Department Manager (Emirati)

About the role

The Dubai Government is hiring an experienced Data Management Department Manager to lead the development and implementation of enterprise data management strategies, frameworks and governance practices. The role suits someone with a strong background in data management, data governance, data architecture and analytics, able to lead teams and manage strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement data management strategies, policies, frameworks and procedures.
• Lead enterprise-wide data collection, management, analysis and reporting initiatives.
• Establish data governance standards, data quality controls and data validation processes.
• Oversee data architecture, database structures and centralized data management platforms.
• Ensure data practices align with organizational requirements and applicable government standards.
• Monitor data system performance and recommend improvements to infrastructure, tools and technologies.
• Lead data maturity assessments and develop continuous improvement plans.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders on data strategies.
• Oversee data security, confidentiality and compliance with information security policies.
• Lead departmental planning, performance management, budgeting and team development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in data management, data governance, data analytics or a related field.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise data management frameworks, policies and strategies.
• Experience leading data management initiatives and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and coordinate with internal and external entities.
• Preferred: experience in government, semi-government or large organizations with enterprise-wide data management and governance.
