Data Privacy Senior Manager

About the role

The Senior Manager – Data Privacy Governance will lead ADIB’s privacy governance pillar, designing and continuously improving the bank’s privacy framework, policies, SOPs and regulatory reporting. The role ensures compliance with UAE PDPL, CBUAE regulations and other applicable data protection laws.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Data Privacy Framework, policies, standards and SOPs, including version control and periodic reviews.
• Oversee the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) program and govern the OneTrust platform as the single source of truth for privacy records.
• Manage privacy risk processes, DPIAs, international data transfer assessments and report KPIs/KRIs to senior committees.
• Lead data subject rights handling, consent management and privacy notices across all customer and employee channels.
• Conduct third‑party privacy due diligence, ensure Data Processing Agreements and transfer safeguards are in place.
• Support breach management, act as contact for auditors and regulators, and provide privacy awareness training.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of data protection, privacy governance or regulatory compliance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial role.
• Experience in banking or highly regulated financial services, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and presentation skills at senior management level.
• Excellent English drafting skills; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree‑Law No. 45 of 2021) and its Executive Regulations.
• Working knowledge of CBUAE Consumer Protection Regulation & Standards.
• Familiarity with DIFC Data Protection Law No. 5 of 2020, ADGM Data Protection Regulations, EU GDPR and UK GDPR.
• Practical experience with privacy management platforms (OneTrust) and GRC tools (Archer).
• Understanding of information security principles, data lifecycle management and banking IT systems.
