Demi Chef de Partie - Bakery & Pastry

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a Demi Chef de Partie for its bakery and pastry kitchen in Palm West Beach, Palm Jumeirah Road, Dubai. The position is full-time and non-management, and involves preparing meals and dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and a food preparation checklist, including cold foods.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Maintain food logs and inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items, and anticipate guests' service needs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
