Department Supervisor - Tryano

About the role

The Department Supervisor supports the Department Manager in ensuring smooth execution of daily tasks and operational standards within the Tryano department at Chalhoub Group, a luxury retailer in Abu Dhabi. The role is hands-on, floor-focused and covers customer service, team coaching, stock and visual merchandising standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations and daily priorities, maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor while serving customers and leading by example.
• Maintain customer service standards, resolve customer queries and routine complaints, and escalate when required.
• Build and maintain relationships with VIP clients, develop a client book and support client retention.
• Monitor product availability, replenishment, stock handling and department presentation, and support visual merchandising and store standards.
• Follow up on assigned tasks so they are completed accurately and on time.
• Support team scheduling by monitoring punctuality, attendance and rota adherence.
• Coach and train team members on product knowledge, customer experience, cash handling, stock processes and grooming.
• Support checkout operations during peak periods and identify ways to improve the customer journey.
• Reduce operational and POS errors through coaching and follow-up, and escalate people, customer or operational concerns to the Department Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a retail leadership role within luxury fashion.
• Strong product knowledge of Women's Ready-to-Wear and/or Leather Goods.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching and developing sizeable retail teams.
• A hands-on, floor-focused leadership style able to motivate and influence others.
• Passion for luxury client experience, relationship building and service excellence.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Flexibility to work across retail shifts, including weekends.
