Design Manager – Façade

About the role

Al Abbar Group is seeking a Design Manager to lead its façade design function in Dubai. The role oversees the full lifecycle of shop drawings, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance and timely delivery for high‑rise projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret contract documents, specifications and drawings to define the design scope.
• Oversee preparation, review and structural checking of shop drawings and fabrication details.
• Manage submission, approval and issuance of drawings and material submittals.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams to resolve design issues.
• Support Project Managers with technical expertise and attend site/consultant meetings.
• Lead, mentor and allocate resources for the design team, tracking progress against milestones.
• Maintain high standards of quality, productivity and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of façade design experience.
• Proven leadership and team‑management capability.
• Excellent communication with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Strong technical knowledge of façade systems and construction methods.
