Design & Projects Executive

About the role

Bateel is looking for a Design & Projects Executive who reports to the Director – Property, Projects & Facilities. The role acts as the central coordination point between Bateel and its franchise partners on day-to-day design and project matters, from site finalisation through to store handover. It manages design queries, drawing and material submissions, technical coordination and project tracking across multiple markets, so that franchise stores meet Bateel's design and operational standards while keeping status, risks and outstanding decisions visible.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the single point of contact for franchise partners, answering queries promptly and within agreed service levels, and guiding them through site finalisation, layout development, design approval, fit-out and handover.
• Communicate Bateel requirements, timelines and agreed design fees clearly, and flag requests outside the agreed scope or programme.
• Receive, log and circulate design drawings, material samples, specifications and technical submissions, consolidate stakeholder comments and issue clear feedback.
• Track revisions, resubmissions and approvals, and keep an accurate record of approved drawings and materials per store.
• Carry out first-level checks against brand guidelines and design standards, escalating deviations to the Projects team.
• Maintain a franchise store tracker covering stage, timelines, submissions, costs, risks and outstanding decisions, and prepare regular status reports for the Director and senior stakeholders.
• Identify technical issues and potential delays early, reduce site-stage changes and rework, and escalate risks with proposed actions.
• Coordinate internally with Design, Projects, Operations, Retail, Finance and Franchise teams, follow up on consultant and supplier deliverables, quotations and fee invoices, and keep project documentation organised.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, project management or a related field.
• 2-4 years' experience in design coordination, project coordination or fit-out, ideally in retail, F&B or hospitality.
• Experience with franchise partners, landlords or multiple external stakeholders is an advantage.
• Good understanding of fit-out drawings, material submittals, technical approvals and basic MEP coordination.
• Ability to read and review drawings; willingness to travel within the GCC and to franchise markets as required.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred)
• Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint and project tracking tools
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic is an advantage
