Directional Driller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Directional Driller to support on‑shore and off‑shore drilling operations involving complex well trajectories, horizontal wells and extended‑reach programs. The role focuses on planning and executing directional drilling activities while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute directional drilling operations according to the approved program and well objectives.
• Operate and optimise Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS) and conventional mud‑motor BHAs to achieve planned trajectories.
• Monitor drilling parameters in real time to maximise ROP, wellbore quality and tool performance.
• Plan and run kickoff, build, hold, drop, tangent, horizontal and extended‑reach sections.
• Perform well‑trajectory monitoring, anti‑collision analysis and directional surveys.
• Collaborate with drilling supervisors, MWD/LWD personnel, contractors and operator representatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of directional drilling experience on horizontal, high‑angle and extended‑reach wells.
• Proven experience with complex 3‑D directional profiles and mud‑motor drilling.
• Experience in both on‑shore and off‑shore environments, preferably in challenging formations (carbonate, sandstone, HPHT).
• Ability to work independently in remote field locations.

Required skills

• Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS) – push‑the‑bit and point‑the‑bit technologies.
• Mud‑motor bottom‑hole assemblies (BHAs).
• Directional drilling planning and execution.
• Horizontal and extended‑reach drilling techniques.
• MWD/LWD data interpretation and anti‑collision analysis.
