Director, Compliance, Financial Crime & Conduct Risk – SC Ventures

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer of SC Ventures, the Director will lead the Compliance, Financial Crime and Conduct Risk (CFCR) function for the venture unit. Based in the DIFC office with regular attendance at Abu Dhabi, the role ensures CFCR considerations are embedded across retail banking, corporate banking, strategic investments, data strategy and digital assets.

Key responsibilities

• Drive CFCR strategy and governance across all SC Ventures activities in the UAE and Africa.
• Oversee transaction due‑diligence, corporate actions and advisory services.
• Support the adoption of CFCR frameworks, including financial crime compliance, regulatory compliance, conduct, data quality, privacy and records management.
• Collaborate with the CFCR team to design risk‑based frameworks tailored to each venture’s business model and regulatory environment.
• Lead ongoing CFCR risk assessments, monitoring, training and advisory for new venture launches.
• Implement the “CFCR Function of the Future” and its eight product components.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in compliance, financial crime, conduct risk or related regulatory functions within banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to influence senior management and drive governance adoption across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of venture‑building, entity structuring and expansion planning.
• Excellent analytical and advisory skills with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
