Director of Operations – Hospital Executive Leadership

About the role

The organisation is a large, internationally recognised private hospital in Abu Dhabi seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join the executive leadership team. Reporting to the CEO, you will drive operational excellence, patient experience, workforce effectiveness, service development and financial performance across a complex healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operational performance, patient flow, capacity management and service efficiency.
• Partner with clinical leaders to optimise quality, safety and patient outcomes.
• Oversee departmental performance, workforce planning and productivity.
• Manage operational budgets, KPIs and resource utilisation.
• Lead service transformation, continuous improvement initiatives and support strategic growth of new clinical services.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and governance requirements.

Required profile

• Significant senior healthcare operations leadership experience, preferably in the GCC.
• Background in a large acute, tertiary or multi‑specialty hospital environment.
• Proven track record of delivering operational improvements and business performance.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams with strong commercial acumen.
• Fluent Arabic desirable but not essential; Master’s degree in Healthcare Management or related field preferred.
