Driver - General Services

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE, is looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Driver to join its General Services team. The role covers the safe and efficient transport of employees, visitors, goods and, where applicable, ammunition or other controlled materials, while keeping vehicles roadworthy and compliant with UAE traffic regulations and company safety procedures. It also supports day-to-day logistics such as pickups, deliveries, loading and unloading.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport employees and visitors to and from company facilities and other locations.
• Transport goods, materials and, where applicable, ammunition or controlled materials according to approved safety procedures.
• Operate only vehicles authorised under the relevant UAE driving licence category.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and routine safety checks, and keep vehicles clean, safe and roadworthy.
• Maintain accurate Driver Log Books and vehicle records.
• Comply with UAE traffic laws, company policies and HSE requirements, and follow procedures for hazardous materials where applicable.
• Carry out trips across different Emirates and support loading, unloading, shipping, receiving and inventory movement.
• Monitor servicing, maintenance, tyre condition and registration, and report accidents, defects or hazards immediately to the Manager and Security team.

Required profile

• High school certificate or diploma.
• Valid UAE driving licence for the required vehicle category.
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional driving experience in the UAE.
• Good knowledge of UAE roads, traffic laws and regulations, and of vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance.
• Willingness to travel between Emirates and to support logistics activities.
• Preferred: experience with light vehicles, heavy trucks, buses, forklifts or other commercial vehicles, and previous experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, government or defence environments.
