Dry Cleaner / Laundry Attendant

About the role

This full‑time position is based in the Housekeeping department of Burj Al Arab, Dubai. The role focuses on delivering professional laundry and dry‑cleaning services for guests, staff and hotel uniforms while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Report for duty on time in complete uniform.
• Sort and separate soiled linens for appropriate wash loads.
• Select and apply the correct washing formula and program for each load.
• Operate all laundry and dry‑cleaning equipment according to manufacturer manuals.
• Check, tag and colour‑code guest and staff laundry using the marking machine.
• Process uniforms with the proper wash formulas.
• Press guest and colleague laundry to maintain quality standards.
• Inspect, treat stains and ensure items are ready before washing or dry‑cleaning.
• Complete production sheets accurately.
• Pick up and deliver guest laundry promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a clean, tidy laundry area and keep equipment in good condition.
• Use chemicals and equipment safely, following Material Data Sheets and SOPs.
• Control usage of amenities, chemicals, supplies, uniforms and linen to prevent misuse.
• Participate in required training and perform any additional tasks assigned by the department.

Required profile

• Minimum High School certificate.
• At least 1 year of experience in a 5‑star hotel laundry or commercial laundry environment.
• Familiarity with hotel laundry equipment and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
