Duty Engineer – Hotel Maintenance Lead

About the role

The Duty Engineer is responsible for all maintenance activities within the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, ensuring a seamless guest experience through daily inspections, equipment repairs, and coordination of renovation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance checks throughout the hotel and address any issues promptly.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical and lift systems, including emergency release procedures.
• Develop and manage emergency response programs and energy‑conservation initiatives.
• Coordinate renovation bidding, define project scope and cost, and oversee contractors to ensure quality and cost‑effectiveness.
• Lead and mentor Shift Leaders and Technicians, managing team performance and financial targets.
• Ensure health and safety compliance through regular inspections and staff training.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in hotel engineering or facilities management.
• Strong customer‑relation skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and financial acumen to support revenue targets.
• Ability to develop and implement operational standards, quality assurance, and training programs.
