Electrical Design Engineer – Dubai

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their Dubai team, focusing on electrical systems for water‑treatment plants, firefighting and environmental service projects. The role involves preparing detailed designs and technical submittals while ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prepare electrical technical submittals, including single‑line diagrams, schematics for MCC, MDB, SMDB and DB panels, BOQs, cable sizing, load schedules, layouts, lighting, small power, earthing, lightning and shop drawings.
• Prepare all electrical test forms such as FAT, SAT, Megger, continuity, loop, functional, and earthing tests.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, automation and drafting teams to develop complete electrical designs.
• Support proposal, production and operations teams throughout project life‑cycle.
• Issue RFQs to suppliers, manage supplier coordination, negotiations and technical meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in electrical design and technical submittal preparation for industrial applications.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and other electrical design tools.
• Strong knowledge of MCCs, VFDs, PLCs and power distribution panels.
• Excellent understanding of UAE authority requirements (DEWA, DM, ADDC, etc.).
• Experience with water/wastewater or similar industrial projects is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and strong communication skills.
