Electrical Engineer (Water Treatment & Desalination)

About the role

An experienced Electrical Engineer is sought to support the design, engineering, commissioning and operation of water treatment, wastewater treatment and desalination plants. The role is based on site in Abu Dhabi and requires strong expertise in electrical systems design, power distribution, motor control systems and plant automation, together with mandatory GCC experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical systems and control solutions for infrastructure and industrial projects
• Prepare electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics and panel layouts
• Design electrical control panels, PLC panels, MCC panels, VFD panels and automation control systems
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, equipment selection and power distribution design
• Review project specifications, client requirements and applicable standards
• Coordinate with mechanical, process, instrumentation and project teams
• Support procurement through technical evaluations and vendor coordination
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical systems
• Ensure compliance with international standards, safety regulations and quality requirements
• Prepare technical documentation, BOQs and engineering reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
• Proven experience designing electrical and control equipment for infrastructure projects
• Mandatory GCC experience
• Experience in power distribution, electrical protection and industrial control systems
• Experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment and desalination projects is an added advantage

Required skills

• Hands-on design of electrical control panels (MCC, PLC, VFD, automation)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and related design tools
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
