Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Modaxo is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain high‑performance embedded solutions for its transportation technology portfolio. The role covers the full software lifecycle from requirements through to deployment and support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop interactive Linux applications using C++ and Qt.
• Design and maintain high‑performance firmware for STM32 microcontrollers in C.
• Integrate third‑party libraries and middleware into the firmware architecture.
• Debug and troubleshoot software and build issues, providing effective resolutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of code quality.
• Create and maintain build scripts (CMake) for packaging and deployment.
• Follow rigorous software development life‑cycle processes, including testing and verification.
• Interface with clients to gather requirements, estimate effort and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Provide second‑level support to regional customer support teams.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics or related field.
• Over 4 years of experience developing C++ applications in Linux environments.
• Proven experience with embedded firmware development for STM32 devices.
• Experience with both agile and waterfall development methodologies.
• Familiarity with drivers, libraries and RTOS frameworks.
