Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

About the role

National Ambulance UAE is looking for registered healthcare professionals who can deliver basic life support in a pre-hospital setting. The role sits within the Operations department and is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct direct assessments of illnesses and injuries and deliver basic care
• Support paramedics in emergency pre-hospital patient care
• Assist the ill and injured before and during ambulance transfers
• Communicate necessary information to receiving facilities
• Maintain the operational readiness of ambulance units, medical equipment and other tools

Required profile

• Internationally recognized certificate in Emergency Medical Services / EMT
• One year of work experience after registration or certification
• Valid UAE license to practice (preferred)
• Valid UAE driving license (preferred)
• Valid BLS, PHTLS or ITLS certification (preferred)

Required skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Communication by telephone and radio equipment
• Interpretation of written, oral and diagnostic instructions
• Patient interviewing and critical thinking under pressure
• Ability to work through a full shift without interruption and to cope with loud noises and flashing lights
